I am working as tech lead and backend engineer (previously iOS engineer) for Doodle.
I am 39 years old, have worked as a full-time iOS developer since March 2012 (iOS contract work since 2009) and before that as a web developer for over six years. I have got extensive knowledge about iOS app development, web services, databases and interacting with APIs.
I hold the degree “Diplom Informatiker (FH)”, which is roughly equivalent to a Master’s degree in computer science.
I have contributed to hockeyapp.net (a service for mobile app developers), which was run by friends of mine. I was a contributor to TextMate and manned the MacroMates booth at MacWorld ’06 with two friends. I have written the TextMate Basics Tutorial.
I’m regularly attending conferences, including WWDC 2011, 2013 and 2015 in San Francisco, Apple Tech talks 2011 in Berlin, SXSW 2010 in Austin, JSConf 2010 in Berlin, NSConf 2013 & 2014 in the UK, UIKonf 2013/2014/2018 in Berlin, #Pragma 2017 in Verona and more. I’m also a regular at the Berlin CocoaHeads.
